o Cabañas Copal in Tulum, Mexico. May 2004. English and Spanish Versions. Taking advantage of a business trip to Cancun, I’ve decided to take a tour of Cabañas Copal, in Tulum, to make an evaluation of the hotel and decide about a future vacation with my family next summer... o Cabañas Copal in Tulum, Mexico. November, 2002. My husband and I visited this Resort last month - November 2002 -, and found just about everything that is posted on their web site is true. This was an "interesting" vacation. When they say "no electricity" they mean it. The restaurant is powered by a small generator, so there are lights in that location. Every night small cans (beer cans) of kerosene are placed/lighted along the paths joining the cabanas, this helps in getting around at night. The cabanas are some what close to each other so you will have the opportunity to meet your neighbor. The cabana "The Casita" is really nice, and private. We had the cabana next to The Casita, which is also private, with a kingsize bed. The "nude" beach, is more clothing opitional, but the resort people let you wear and not wear what you choose on the beach. There were swimsuits, topless, and nude people along the beach. The beach is private due to the length which is about 450-500 yards. Thus, there is not anyone on the beach except the guest at the two or three resorts that are located along this beach. All the people there were friendly, and most from Europe. We rented a car in Cancun, and drove to the Resort. Major highway with little traffic, but what is there are driving fast. On the highways everybody drives fast. We stopped in Playa del Carmen at the large grocery store for beer, vodka, bottled water, luncheon meat, insect repellant, bread, chips, a throw away cooler, and a small broom. The cooler kept all the drinks cold, and we went to town every night for dinner and ice, or just ice when we had dinner at the Resort. Not any ice available at the resort - no electricity. The broom, well it was used to sweep all the sand out of the Cabana, and believe me you will track sand into the Cabana. We drove to the ruins in Chichen Itza one day which was most enjoyable. If you go beware of the holes in the highway the first 50-60 miles. Major HOLES! Also, well marked going, but not returning, so notice some land marks for your return. The ruins in Tulum are interesting, but the ones in Chichen Itza are in much better condition and more impressive. Hint: If you make the reservations with their e-mail address, and not with their on-line reservations ask for a discount. We received a 15% discount. Thanks Ross and Judy for the report.
o Desire Resort Cancun, Trip Report. May 2003. English and Spanish Versions. Last Monday May 5th, my wife Anabel and I, Gabriel, have returned from 4 wonderful days at Desire Resort in Cancún, which just have opened last April 28th as a couple only, nudist resort. You can't imagine how much we enjoyed that trip. The resort is very, very beautiful, even it is in its last details (gardens, for example, are not perfectly manicured), and some rooms have small failures... November 1996. On Nov. 5, 1996, my wife and I made our first trip to Diamond Eden Resort in Loreto, Baja, Mexico. So here is the first, non travel agent, report of our week's stay at one of, if not the best, all inclusive values in this hemisphere, with the added feature of a clothing optional beach and hot tub. Earlier this year we knew that "business burn out" was fast coming and we had to get out of town for a bit of total relaxation. To us that means turning off the brain and doing little that requires any thought or decision making, sitting on a nude beach and catching up on all of the books we don't have time to read at home... o Eden Loreto Resort Report. 2001. Very nice hotel and resort. The food and service is very good for what you pay for. The airport is nice but baggage handling is a disaster....the entire plane from Toronto is full of passengers going to this resort only as it is a small town. There is golf for those who enjoy same. The hotel has a clothing optional beach right beside the main beach separated by hedges. There is also a hot tub for clothing optional. The problem lies in that the nude beach is right beside the main beach and there are many "lookers". The hot tub at night will sometimes fill with many nudists but is often mixed with those who remain in bathing suits. The sand is dark but the beach can be walked for miles. The nude area is restricted to about a 40 yard stretch of beach. A very nice quiet vacation spot but not ideal for real NUDE enthusiasts! Thanks Dave for the report!
o Eden Resorts Report. (formerly Diamond Eden Resort.) 2000. Loreto, Mexico is about an 1 1/2 hour flight from Los Angeles. It's on the Sea of Cortez side of the Baja Peninsula; the scenery is desert, and it's surrounded by the stunning desert mountains of the Sierra Gigante mountain range. Think of Palm Springs with an ocean and you have the setting. We recently invited some nudist friends of ours to sail with us on our sailboat which has been in Mexico since last October. They had 10 days of vacation to use and our boat was in La Paz, Mexico, just 120 miles from Loreto, so we decided to include a visit to Eden Resorts in our itinerary... o Gracias Cabanas Copal Report. June 11, 2003. When searching for a Mexican clothing optional destination and in need of a 'relaxing' week away, I stumbled upon a report in the Mexico section for Cabanas Copal. What the reporter said and what the website contained made it interesting enough to give it a try. We spent May 31 - June 7, 2003 at Copal. It is truly paradise on earth! Understanding we do reside in the more north west area of Canada where 'rustic' is the norm for us, my partner and I have travelled. I've been to many locations in the States and Canada and he has travelled overseas and many other areas of Mexico. The website does inform people that there is no electricity (cabanas are lit by candles) nor any land phones. The website does tell you to bring a flashlight. They do have flush toilets and hot showers... (click preceding link to read the rest of the report.)
o Guadalupe Canyon Hot Springs Report. 2005. This is one neat hot springs owned by one neat dude, Arturo Loya; chatter with him in what little Spanish you know and he'll treat you well. There are more than 40 soaking pools, including areas large enough to accommodate groups up to 50 people in size with several pools of different temperatures. Nothing is for sale at BDG (Baranca de Guadalupe) except soda and delicious genuine Mexican meals prepared before your eyes, and at a low price. Elevation varies from 1,200 feet to more than 2,000 feet. Very high clearance only for the last 2 miles. Better yet is 4wd. If it's been raining heavily, forget about either entering or leaving BDG until the raging waters in the wash subside. There is no electricity or phone and any services must be obtained 96 kilometers away in Mexicali... (click preceding link to read the rest of the report.)
o Hidden Beach Resort (Cancun, Mexico) Report. December 27, 2003. We departed from Miami on American Airlines, direct flight to Cancun, one hour 20 minutes. Upon arrival we were impressed with the government services within the airport, seems like there was someone who spoke English at every point from the gate to curbside. I was surprised with the dozen of government employees who were in the baggage claim area to give rate information on the various forms of ground transportation, and made sure you paid the right price, "seems there was a problem with price gouging in the past"... o Loreto, Baja, Report. November 2000. Spanish version also. My wife Anabel (27 y/o) and I (40 y/o) had our first nude experience in the first days of November, this year. We went to a short vacation to Loreto, Baja, Mexico, and spent four days in Loreto Solare Desert Sun, an adult only all inclusive resort, that has a Clothing Optional beach, volley ball court and hot tub. Well, when we arrived at the resort (12:00 hrs) we went to our room to put on our swimsuits (a t-back bikini for her and navy boxer trunks for me), and immediately went to the beach. When we saw the bushes dividing the textile area from the CO area, the sign in the entrance arch "Nudist Club" invited us to "see what is there". ... (click link to read the rest of the report.)
o Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Report. 1998. Visited a place called Playa Del Carmen many times. The beaches are topfree and the weather is always great. It is a ferry ride across from Cozumel, or about 45 minutes south of Cancun... (click link to see the rest of the report). Thanks Ken for the report.
o Playa del Carmen Report... sadly. Wednesday, 3 February 1999. Well, just got back from Mexico. The beaches at playa are sadly reflecting a strong American influence now. Once the beach was predominantly topless with tops being the exception not the rule. That has changed as much as the accents on the tourists. Many more Americans now. The nude beach was often as populated as the textile beach, that too, sadly has changed... (click link to see the rest of the report). Thanks Ken for the report.
o Playa Naturel Report. 1999. I was in dire need of a relaxing vacation when I went to Playa Naturel. Work had been very hectic, and a lady I had intended to bring with me changed her mind several weeks before, so my stress level was maxed. That all changed upon my arrival at the gate to Playa Naturel, and the warm greeting by Ed and Mike. I immediately went to my palapa and got comfortable, then wandered to the bar for a beer. It took perhaps 5 minutes for me to realize that this place is truly FANTASTIC! ... (click link to see the rest of the report).
o Playa Naturel Report. Summer 1999. I've had a few requests from people asking for a report on our recent visit to Playa Naturel just outside Cancun in Mexico....so here goes!! We are an English couple in our late twentys/early thirtys who have just returned from our second visit to Cancun have been there two years ago and stayed within the hotel zone. This time we again stayed in the hotel zone but hired a jeep to explore further afield. As nudity is not permitted in the hotel zone, Playa Naturel sounded ideal and looks fantastic on its web page.....Is it as nice as it looks??....Believe me, the place does not disappoint...the web site does not do it justice... o Playa Zipolite Report. 2001. What is Zipolite? Lyoban' explains... ZIPOLITE HISTORY: A long, long time ago, Zipolite beach was usually visited by the Zapotecans...who made it a magical place. They used to visit Zipolite to meditate, or just to rest. More recently, in the 60´s, Zipolite was rediscovered by young people, who were from all parts the this earth, and recognized as the 'Hippies'. Hippies found in this magical place a great charm for living, in peace, together, and with the few native locals. They 'began' a new touristic concept... (click link to see the rest of the report).
o Playa Zipolite Report. 2001. My family and I spent 3 glorious weeks on the clothing optional beach at Zipolite Mexico. Zipolite is about 40 miles south of Peurto Escondido which is south of Alcapulco! It is a fantastic beach with lots of little hotels. The area is still very untouristy and definitely off the beaten track...but well worth the glorious beach! We stayed at Brisa Marina while we were there...great owner... a guy named Dan (from CALIFORNIA). Beautiful little hotel right on the beach. Thanks Sandra for the report.
o Punta Serena, near Manzanillo. Second Trip. December 2005. English and Spanish Versions. From December 18 to 20, 2005, my wife Anabel and I went to Punta Serena, after exactly one year from being there for the first time. To our surprise, there weren't any rooms available when I called in the first days of the month. We were put on a waiting list, and at the same time, we reserved in the sister resort Blue Bay, paying a special rate that would permit us have meals and make use of installations of Punta Serena. It wasn't perfect, but was a good deal. To our good luck, two days before departing, Aurora, from the reservations department, called me to say that our room in Punta Serena would be available.... o Punta Serena, near Manzanillo. First Trip. December 2004. English and Spanish Versions. Last weekend my wife Anabel and I decided celebrate our 8th anniversary of being together, going to Punta Serena, an adult only, clothing optional resort and SPA, located 4 hours driving from home in Guadalajara, Mexico... o Tulum Beaches Report. December 28 to January 1, 2003. English and Spanish Versions. My oldest children Gabriela (15), Manuel (9) and I spent 4 days at Tulum Beaches, about 80 miles south Cancún. The stretch of land/resorts is called “Riviera Ecosolar”, and consists of a strip of 6 miles of small hotels, cabins, and “posadas” that generate their electricity using solar panels, and wind or gasoline generators, along one of the most beautiful white sand beaches I’ve seen in my life...
