1. Reports and Clubs:
a. Greece and the Mediterranean, Malta: Gozo Island Report. May 2010. On our island of Gozo, we have some remote beaches where naturism is tolerated. In the North we have 'Ghajn Barrani' (Foreigners' Spring). This stretch of sea-level blue clay rock is situated between 2 of the most popular bays in Gozo, Marsalforn & Ramla il-Hamra (the Red Sand Beach). To reach Ghajn Barrani you have to pass through the Village of Xaghra (the village of the Ggantija Temples). Coming up from Marsalforn Bay, as soon as you reach the first buildings of Xaghra, you meet some 'traffic islands', you just turn left through the fields, turn left again and park your car or bike there. If you have a Jeep, you can go a bit further down, but this is not recommended on the first time. You can then walk down all the way to the sea through passage ways in fields and down some clay slopes. This area is best when wind is blowing from the South direction. In the South East we have an area known as 'Zriezaq' (Slopes) or 'tal-Blata' (of the Rock, because there is a rock like Fungus Rock known as 'il-Gebla tal-Halfa') In the village of Qala, on your way down to 'Hondoq ir-Rummien Bay', you pass by a small Chapel and Cemetary, enter the second (2nd) road on your left had side just before the main road turns right overlooking the old hard-stone quarrey. Entering on the left, go down the Road through the fields and park in one of the last fields before the road ends. Then you have to walk through a tight passage way on the left of the road ending, turn right and proceed aproaching the sea. You can either stay in 'Anchor Bay' (you will notice a large black sign with an Anchor) or continue walking on the left hand side to the saltpens and discover yourself Gozo's Paradise!! A great area for snorkling passionates. Best when wind is coming from the North and West directions. These two beaches are among the best areas you can find for bathing in a more natural way. Among others you can even try a rocky area underneath Fort Chambray. This is fortification overlooking Mgarr harbour. You can rewach this area either from the parking area in Mgarr or from Ghajnsielem village through 'ix-Xatt l-Ahmar'. Just follow the 'Ship Wrecks' diving signs from Mgarr road. Once you are down at 'ix-Xatt l-Ahmar' walk to the far left hand side underneath the Fortifications. Ideal in North wind. Another place might be in Xlendi bay. Going up St Simon street on the left hand side overlooking the bay, you park your car, and proceed on foot to the Tower area, preferibly on North-East wind days. This is a great place for Snorkling. The two main Reefs cannot be missed. One is in the middle of the Bay entrance, where there is the signaling light, and the other reef at the far end. You can even try an area underneath the Tower of Dwejra, facing the Fungus Rock on Easterly winds. My most favourites are 'Ghajn Barrani' in Xaghra in South winds and 'Zriezaq' in Qala in North & West winds. Hope everyone reading, find this information interesting and helpful! c. USA, Hawaii: Update on Kauai Beaches report: Update April 2010 - Problems at Larsen's Beach.
A cattle rancher named Bruce Laymon was recently granted a permit by the state of Hawaii to start operations for a 600 acre cattle ranch directly behind Larsen's Beach. A group of community activists appealed against that decision. In the meantime Laymon and his employees, who he states are his family, have started verbally harassing naturists and others who attempt to use Larsen's Beach, a public beach. A gradual traditional trail to the beach used by beachgoers for many years and Native Hawaiians long before them is being fenced off by Laymon which he claims is on private property. This leaves a steep, rocky trail also on private land, and a county trail that was blocked off by fencing years ago and inaccessible to the public. Laymon wants Larsen's Beach shut off as much as he can. He has stated his opposition to naturists, gays and hippies, and said he will call the police and photograph either type of person if he sees them on Larsen's Beach with the goal of having them arrested.

Laymon accosted me at the beach while I was photographing him and his employees removing vegetation in the zone behind the beach, a conservation zone, with brush hogs. His permit allows only hand tool clearing. He flew into a rage and said I should have my lawyer come down here and see the 100 Hawaiians he is going to have on the beach next week. He told another beachgoer known personally to me the same day that he was going to have 50 Hawaiians at Larsen's Beach next week, and will drive out all of us haoles (Caucasians) off Larsen's Beach. He stated he intends to reclaim Larsen's Beach for his family and for the Hawaiians. Presumably to reclaim it from naturists, gays, hippies and Caucasians. That is a federal hate crime, driving (by force or intimidation) an entire class of persons from public property. A complaint has been filed with the FBI and the Naturist Action Committee has been kept updated.
If you go to Larsen's Beach do not go without a video capable device with audio recording capability. If you are threatened in any way because of your naturism or your race, get it on tape and contact Kauai Naturists.
d. USA, Hawaii: KALANI Oceanside Resort Retreat & Adventures has been restoring soul in people's hectic lives now for over 25 years. Just our presence (as a fun, affordable non-profit educational eco-resort) in Hawaii's largest nature preserve allows you to breathe more deeply. The pool is now clothing optional all the time. Coastal frontage and nearby beach are naturist all the time. Kalani hosts a few naturist events, and nearly all our event include accessions to clothing optional waterfalls, crater lake, thermal springs, steam bathing, and beaches. 1. Reports and Clubs:
a. Caribbean, Cuba: Santa Maria Report. December 2009. There are currently three hotels on this section of beach: Barceló Cayo Santa Maria (first and most western). Melia Las Dunas (middle) Melia Sol Cayo Santa Maria (last and most eastern). The nude section of the beach begins where the Sol Cayo Santa Maria's second last boardwalk enters the beach. Let everyone be warned: use the boardwalks - the tall grass that separates the beach and the resort is like waking thru a mine field! There are these small razor sharp burrs growing in the grass and you don't want them stuck to your feet or your shoes! They're nasty and down right evil little things! If you stay at the Barceló (first hotel to the west) it was quite the walk - about 50 min (Google Earth plots the distance at around 3 km). However, the beach sand is really packed and great for walking until you pass the Las Dunas (middle hotel) where the sand becomes much softer (less packed) and hard to walk on without sinking. If you stay at the Melia Sol Cayo Santa Maria (last hotel to the east) it would definitely cut down the distance to walk. From here even with the sinking/soft sand, it is about a 10 min walk. The nude section starts after the 2nd last walkway (of the Cayo Santa Maria resort), with the absolute last walkway leading to set of bungalows that nobody ever seems to be staying in. There were quite a few nude people using this section of beach, with many being the same familiar faces each day. There are plenty of white plastic chairs and a few of the nicer blue mesh ones located here. Everyone seems respectful enough to use the garbage cans (which is awesome). And finally, for those who like shade, there are those palapa things randomly placed and some longer rectangular structures also covered in thatched leaves. While there is no "magic line" separating the beaches, you'll notice less clothing after passing the second walkway. (go to Caribbean page to read the rest of the report.)
b. Caribbean, Cuba: Melia Cayo Santa Maria. Updated 2008. I was there in November and walked the entire beach, about an hour from Sol to Barcelo. Whenever I encountered a nude person, I did likewise, and when seeing a group of textiles I covered up again. So just pick a spot an appropriate distance from the hotel's beach area and you should have no problem. From Las Dunas you could borrow a bicycle. Those 3 properties are all the same parent company so it shouldn't be a problem going through the grounds to get from the road to the beach. Otherwise, walking the 20 min along the beach has no restrictions. ((click link to read the rest of the report.) November 2007. I returned to this resort in November 2007. It has just become an adults-only property, but the spa on the property is still available for those on the adjacent resorts. The towel exchange booth has now moved into the former kids building, and a pool table and pingpong table have also been installed, along with some loud musicmaking machine. The kiddy pool has not been converted into anything else yet. A volleyball court was being dug during my stay, and subsequent reports indicate it is complete... c. Australia: Ellis Beach-Buchan's Point Trip Report. 2007. On my last trip to Australia in 2007-2008, I spent most of my time in Noosa Heads, but also journeyed north to tropical North Queensland, stopping in Townsville to access Magnetic Island, which has traditional nude beaches at Rocky Bay, Balding Bay, and other secluded strands. You can read about my Balding Bay trip report here on NetNude as well. Noosa Heads and its clothing-optional Alexandria Bay have their own report. d. Australia: Balding Bay Magnetic Island, North Queensland Trip Report. 2007. Magnetic Island, North Queensland, Australia is home to two or three traditional clothing-optional beaches. Balding Bay is the most well-known, but nudists use the far west end of Horsehoe Bay and Rocky Bay Beach, an easy walk from Picnic Bay. I stopped at Rocky Bay on this trip one day and found the sand almost gone at high tide, and the sand is damp for most of the day when the tide goes out. A very strange lone male with a tall Mexican style hat was there. Female waitstaff at one of the hotels later told me his presence puts off girls going to Rocky Bay, so they go elsewhere. Like all beaches in Queensland, none is legally designated clothing-optional, unlike most other Australian states.(go to Australian page to read the rest of the report.)

a. USA, Florida: Lake Como Report. April 2009. I enjoyed my stay at Lake Como. The people were fine. I am not pushy and I don't want to appear to forward but the few people I talked to were pleasant. It does take me a while to mingle so I didn't get to do to much of that. I like the restaurant. It was like a neighborhood place in a middle class area. The food was fine with me but I'm not to fussy and the prices were reasonable. (go to Florida page to read the rest of the report.)
b. USA, North Carolina: Jasmine Trail. (Note from Jan: The following report is from a person who visited Jasmine Trail in September 2009. If anyone else has a trip report on Jasmine Trail... send it to NetNude via the contact page and I will put it on the site right away. I have asked people, including Jasmine Trail, for a report.) Report: Park is going downhill. They did have 3 portable hot tubs, now there are none. Also they had a big screen TV in the clubhouse, it messed up, now it is gone. Their rates are high for what they have to offer. Whispering Pines is the best deal in Eastern NC. Thanks Bob for the report!
c. USA, North Carolina: Jasmine Trail. October 2009. I have recently visited Jasmine Trail, but it was in the middle of the week, so hardly no one was there. But the owner was very nice to me and took the time to explain things while showing me around. It is smaller than I had imagined, but it was very clean and well kept. This was my first visit to a resort, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I'm thinking I might try to visit again sometime, maybe during a weekend. I may have not gotten a full perspective about Jasmine Trail, but I really didn't see anything bad about it. Thanks Joe for the report!

b. USA, Kentucky: Kentucky Nude Recreation (KCNR). This site now contains naturist listings in Kentucky. Kentucky Nude Recreation was originally "Kentucky Campus Nude Recreation" which was created in response to apparent low participation rates of young adults in North American nudism. At one time, there were limited student naturist gatherings at a few Kentucky universities, including an unofficial group at Western Kentucky University. Since then, these students have graduated/moved on in life. However, students at any Kentucky school and young adults in general interested in nudism are invited to contact Kentucky Nude Recreation. Interested persons are also encouraged to get in touch with sources such as Young Adults for Nude Recreation within the American Association for Nude Recreation, and College Nudist Seminars.
